Industry and multi-console news
- Oh man nearly 20 minutes of Brutal Legend footage with walthrough by Tim Schafer.
- Universal bought the rights to make an Asteroids movie. Asteroids. I can't even think of something to say about that. Really? Asteroids?
- A DLC pack is available for Battlestations Pacific today for 160msp/$2, and a larger one is coming on July 23rd for 800msp/$10.
- Battlefield 1943 is being released next week on XBL and PSN for 1200msp/$15.
- Capcom put up a teaser site for Sengoku Basara 3, which will likely never reach western shores.
- Suda 51 says that any future No More Heroes games won't be on the Wii.
- The Dragon Ball license has left Atari and returned to Namco-Bandai, signaling the final deathblow against Atari.
- Apparently there's some hilarious SEC drama with Phantom Entertainment.
- Some sort of Left 4 Dead DLC announcement will be made by the end of the summer.
- Grandmaster Flash is one of the DJs in the upcoming DJ Hero, and two of his mixes were announced: Herbie Hancock's "Rockit" vs N.E.R.D.'s "Lapdance" and his own "Here Comes My DJ" vs Gary Numan's "Cars".
- Next week's Rock Band DLC is a 3-pack of terrible Green Day songs and an 8-pack of Mayhem Fest metal songs, none of which will actually be fun to play.
PC and mobile news
- Good Old Games update: Crystals of Arborea, Ishar III were added to the Ishar compilation (you can get all 4 games for $5.99!) and Personal Nightmare is now available for $5.99.
- Fallout 3 is 50% off this weekend on Steam. There's also a bigass 2K games pack for a nice price.
- The terrible indie FPS Merchants of Brooklyn was renamed Drug Wars, possibly to disassociate itself from the dozens of terrible reviews.
- Piranha Bytes' upcoming game Risen will be released in October after some extensive bug testing, hopefully avoiding the same buggy fate Gothic 3 ended up in.
Nintendo news
- Apparently the next Zelda game won't be "radically different" from the previous ones. Somehow I don't expect Nintendo to ever make any changes to their franchises.
Sony news
- A Home survey asks players what they want so that people will actually visit the game. Some of the features mentioned (stand up comedy?) are discussed in this article.
- The PSP Go's processor is a little bit faster than the original PSP's, though its unknown what it'll actually be used for.
Microsoft news
- Indie darling Fez is coming to XBLA next year, hooray! More than 5 people will have played the game!
